Warren Randolph Matthews started his life on May 7th, 1950, the first of four children by Betty May and Montgomery Warren Matthews. He was soon given the nickname "Randy" and was raised in Springfield MO and Nashville TN. His family followed the growth of his father's career in the industry, including contracts with Word, Decca, and RCA recording companies, singing with the Matthews Brothers, The Foggy River Boys and the Jordainares (who went on to sing with Elvis Presley for many years).
